AUTHOR'S POV:

Indore, Madhya Pradesh

The clock struck eleven.Soft moonlight spilled through the open curtains, bathing the room in a silvery glow. The faint rustle of the night breeze slipped through the window, carrying with it the scent of jasmine from the garden below.

In that quiet room of the grand Sharma mansion, laughter echoed softly - a sound that belonged to two sisters who had shared every secret, every tear, and every dream together.

Shravari sat cross-legged on the bed, her long hair cascading over her shoulders, eyes sparkling with childlike wonder.

"Kavya! I still can't believe it... tomorrow's my wedding day!"

She squealed, bouncing on the bed like a little girl who had just been handed her favorite candy.

Kavya, sitting across from her, caught her hand and grinned.

"Correction, Ms. Shravari Sharma - it's our wedding day. You're not the only bride here!"

Shravari chuckled softly, her cheeks turning pink as her mind drifted. The excitement in her chest slowly melted into a dreamy silence. Her fingers fidgeted with the corner of her dupatta as an unspoken blush crept up her face.

Kavya raised an eyebrow, smirking.

"Oh ho... look at that face. Madam's already blushing. Don't tell me you're imagining your wedding night!"

"Kavya!" Shravari gasped, laughing, and hurled a pillow at her sister's head. "You're impossible!"

The pillow missed, and Kavya laughed harder, clutching her stomach.

"I know I am!"

Their laughter filled the room like music - the kind of pure, unguarded joy that only sisters share before life teaches them heartbreak.

After a few minutes, Kavya lay back, sighing dramatically.

"Okay now, if we don't sleep soon, we'll wake up with dark circles and ruin our bridal glow."

Shravari smiled and nodded. They turned off the lights, the soft hum of the ceiling fan filling the silence. The moonlight still spilled through the curtains, falling gently across their faces.

But Shravari's mind refused to rest. She turned on her side, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Kavya... I still can't believe it. Tomorrow we'll be brides. It feels like I'm living in a dream."

Kavya smiled into the dark.

"I know. It's surreal, isn't it? Tomorrow, Abhimanyu will be mine... only mine."

Her eyes shimmered with excitement, her lips curling into a bright, hopeful smile.

"And I'll finally be Siddharth's," Shravari whispered back, a shy smile tugging at her lips.

For a moment, silence wrapped around them again. Then Kavya suddenly sat up on the bed, her mischievous grin returning.

"Just imagine, Shravari..." she said, wiggling her brows. "This time tomorrow, we'll be in our husbands' arms. Our wedding night will have begun."

Shravari froze. Her cheeks flamed red as her heartbeat stumbled. Her mind wandered for a split second - soft lights, gentle whispers, the unknown tenderness of love.

Kavya laughed.

"Oh my god! Look at you, you're already lost in your thoughts!"

"I am not!" Shravari protested, smacking her sister's shoulder and hiding beneath her blanket. "Stop it!"

"Come on, admit it," Kavya teased, tugging at the blanket playfully. "You were totally thinking about it!"

Before she could say more, Shravari threw another pillow straight at her face.

"Shameless girl! Have you no shame at all?"

Kavya dodged it, giggling uncontrollably.

"None. And honestly, I don't need it.

I mean-imagine me and Abhimanyu!

"Voh hamesha itna serious rehta Hai agar main bhi vessi hogyii toh Meri love story Ka toh RAM NAM SATYA hojayega."

"Haa haa, Mrs. Dreamer," Shravari murmured, smiling despite herself. "Now go to sleep before I actually throw you out."

"Fine, fine," Kavya said, lying back down. "But don't blame me if you dream about Siddharth all night."

"Goodnight, Kavya!" shravari said in warm and sweet voice.

"Goodnight, Mrs. Siddharth!" kavya replied.

They both giggled quietly under their breaths. The laughter faded, replaced by a peaceful silence.

The night stood still, unaware that by the next evening, everything - every dream, every promise - would shatter in ways neither of them could imagine.

After an hour..!

The room had fallen into a deep, velvety silence.

The faint ticking of the wall clock echoed softly against the cream-colored walls, and the dim golden light of the bedside lamp flickered faintly, dancing like a sleepy flame.

Outside, the night breeze whispered against the curtains, carrying the sweet scent of jasmine from the garden below.

Shravari and Kavya were fast asleep, their breaths steady, their faces relaxed under the silver glow of the moon. Everything was calm, peaceful - until a sudden vibration broke through the stillness.

Shravari's phone began to buzz relentlessly on the nightstand. The sound was muffled at first, but soon it grew louder, pulling her out of her light sleep. She groaned softly, half-turning in bed, her hand groping blindly until her fingers finally brushed against the device.

She squinted her eyes open, the screen's harsh light hitting her sleepy face.

And then - she froze.

On the glowing screen, one name blinked back at her.

"MY LOVE."

For a brief second, her lips curved into a sleepy, tender smile. But it vanished almost instantly, replaced by confusion and worry. Her brows furrowed as she whispered to herself,

"Why is he calling me at this hour...? Everything alright?"

Her heart began to thump faster, and she sat up straight, brushing her hair off her face. The ringtone kept echoing in the otherwise silent room. Finally, she pressed "accept" and lifted the phone to her ear.

"Hello?" she whispered cautiously, glancing at Kavya to make sure she was still asleep.

A low male voice spoke quickly on the other end - rushed, almost breathless - and before she could even respond, the line went dead.

For a few seconds, Shravari just sat there, staring at the phone screen as if it could explain what had just happened. Her pulse quickened. A strange mixture of fear and anticipation crept into her chest.

She turned toward the window, her fingers trembling slightly. Then, taking a quiet breath, she slipped off the bed. The floor felt cold beneath her bare feet as she tiptoed toward the long curtains. With a hesitant hand, she pulled them aside-and her breath caught in her throat.

Under the pale silver moonlight, someone stood outside the window.

A tall figure. A familiar one.

He wore a black T-shirt that clung perfectly to his lean, muscular frame, paired with grey trousers. His brown eyes glowed faintly under the dim garden lights - mischievous yet warm. His slightly messy hair danced with the night breeze, and his lips, soft and pink, curved into the kind of smile that could make the whole world fade away.

Siddharth.

Her soon-to-be husband.

Her heart gave a small, wild jump. She blinked, unable to believe what she was seeing.

"Siddharth?" she whispered in disbelief, leaning out of the window. "What are you doing here? It's past midnight!"

Siddharth looked up at her, that boyish grin deepening as his voice floated softly through the night.

"I couldn't sleep," he said, eyes glimmering. "I missed you... so I came."

Before she could even scold him, he moved closer - and to her shock, he climbed the ladder propped against the wall, effortlessly making his way up.

Within seconds, he was standing right before her, separated only by the thin frame of the window.

"Siddharth, are you out of your mind?" she whispered furiously, though her voice trembled. "If someone sees you-"

He reached forward and caught her waist, pulling her gently but firmly closer.

His touch was warm against her skin, his fingers firm but tender, and for a moment - everything around her stilled.

Shravari's heart raced; her breath hitched. The air between them grew heavier, charged with something she couldn't name. The moonlight framed them - her in her soft night suit, hair cascading down her shoulders, eyes wide with a mix of fear and something deeper.

"If someone sees," he murmured, his gaze locked on hers, "then they'll see a man visiting his soon-to-be wife. Is that such a crime?"

"It is," she muttered, her voice barely a breath. "Especially when that wife's entire family is sleeping inside."

He chuckled softly, the sound low and intoxicating.

"Then let's not wake them, hmm?"

"Siddharth, please go. You've seen me, now leave," she insisted, glancing nervously around the dim room.

"Hmm." He tilted his head playfully. "Not so fast. I came all the way here. Shouldn't I get something in return?"

Her brows knitted.

"Something in return?" she repeated cautiously. "What do you mean?"

He leaned closer, his smile turning slow and teasing.

"A lip kiss."

Her jaw dropped.

"A what?" she hissed. "You're impossible!"

"Just one," he said with a mock innocence that made her want to both laugh and push him off the ladder.

"You're not getting anything. Go, now."

"I'm not leaving without it."

"Siddharth!"

"Shravari." He grinned. "We could do this all night, you know."

She glared at him, but his puppy-eyed expression nearly broke her composure.

"Don't look at me like that," she muttered, trying to hide the smile tugging at her lips. "It's not going to work. Or vaise bhi maine phle hi decide kar rhka hai main apni pheli kiss apne pati ko dungii...!"

"Oh really?" he teased. "Toh main Kya hu ,Tumhara padosi.?"

" Mujhse hi toh shadi horii hai tumhari" He continued.

"My almost husband," she said smugly. "Which means you can wait till tomorrow."

"Then I guess I'm not leaving," he said with fake seriousness.

She raised a brow.

"What?"

"You're cruel," he whispered dramatically.

She smirked, her voice barely audible.

"I know."

Before he could reply, she suddenly leaned forward, pressing her lips softly against his cheek. His breath hitched in surprise, his eyes widening for a second.

"That's all you're getting," she whispered, her voice trembling with both nerves and affection. "Abb jaaiye, iss se phele ki apko yha koii dekh le or humari dono ki vaat lag jaaye..."

Siddharth chuckled softly, tracing the spot where her lips had brushed his cheek.

"That will do - for now," he said, his tone warm and full of promise.

He gave her one last lingering look - the kind that made her heart twist - and then began to climb down the ladder. His figure melted into the shadows, swallowed by the quiet night.

Shravari stood there, watching until he disappeared completely. The night felt suddenly emptier.

She sighed, whispering under her breath,

"Why did you have to come like this, Siddharth...? If someone had seen you..."

She pulled the curtain shut and But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't sleep again. Her fingers brushed against her cheek - the one he had touched - and an involuntary smile appeared on her lips.

Shravari tiptoed inside, her dupatta brushing softly against the floor. Her heart was still drumming wildly from what had just happened outside. She could still feel Siddharth's touch lingering on her waist - gentle, possessive, electric enough to make her forget how to breathe.

Her lips curved unconsciously into a small, nervous smile. God... he's crazy, she thought, shaking her head. She quietly walked to her side of the bed, careful not to wake Kavya - or so she believed.

But the moment she bent down to pull the blanket over herself, a voice came from the dark.

"Awww... so romantic!"

Shravari froze. Her breath hitched, eyes snapping open wide as she turned toward the sound.

Kavya was sitting cross-legged on the bed, her hair a messy halo around her face, a mischievous smirk playing on her lips. Her eyes glittered like a cat who had just caught her prey.

"Kavya!" Shravari hissed, clutching her heart. "Tu kab uthi?"

Kavya arched an eyebrow dramatically.

"Jab tera phone bajaa tha," she replied, suppressing a giggle.

"Toh mujhe bataya kyun nahi?" Shravari demanded, flustered, her cheeks flushing a deep pink.

Kavya's lips curved into a teasing grin.

"Arre mujhe kabab mein haddi banne ka koi shauk nahi hai, meri jaan," she said, her tone dripping with playful sarcasm.

Shravari groaned softly and sat down beside her, trying to hide her embarrassment. The faint blush on her cheeks refused to fade.

"Sach mein, yaar," Kavya continued, her voice turning dreamy, "Siddharth kitna romantic hai. Sirf tujhe dekhne ke liye itni raat ko aa gaya."

Shravari turned her face away, biting back a smile. Her fingers fidgeted with the edge of her blanket, betraying her flustered heart.

Kavya wasn't done yet. Her expression shifted into a pout.

"Aur ek Abhimanyu hai..." she sighed, rolling her eyes. "Jise apne kaam ke alawa kuch dikhai hi nahi deta. Aana toh dur ki baat, ek phone call bhi nahi kar sakta!"

Shravari lifted her gaze, her eyes calm but firm.

"Tu hamesha Siddharth aur Abhimanyu ko compare kyun karti rehti hai, Kavya?" she said softly.

"Sabki apni-apni personality hoti hai. Shayad Abhimanyu mein bhi woh qualities hain jo Siddharth mein nahi."

Kavya blinked, her smirk fading a little. For a second, she actually looked thoughtful, her mischievous energy pausing mid-air.

Shravari continued, her tone now tender - protective almost.

"Waise bhi, tune Abhimanyu se pyaar kiya hai, na ki usne. Toh tujhe usse accept karna hoga jaisa voh hai, not how you want him to be."

A moment of silence hung between them - soft, almost emotional - before Kavya broke it dramatically, folding her hands in mock surrender.

"Bas kar ja, meri maa! Ab mujhe gyaan dena band kar aur sone de!"

Shravari burst into laughter, the tension melting instantly. Kavya grumbled, pulling her blanket over her face.

"Good night, lecture queen!" she mumbled from underneath it.

Shravari shook her head, smiling helplessly. "Good night, drama queen," she whispered back.

The lamp flickered once before fading into darkness. The sisters lay side by side, their breaths slowly syncing to the rhythm of the quiet night.

Outside, the wind rustled through the trees. The moonlight spilled through the curtains, falling softly on Shravari's face - serene, innocent, unaware.

She closed her eyes, but her heart refused to rest. It replayed Siddharth's voice, his touch, that mischievous smile before he disappeared down the ladder.

And somewhere deep inside her - beneath all the laughter and blushes - something uneasy stirred.

A whisper of fate.A warning she couldn't yet understand.

Tomorrow, her world would change forever.
